INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS
Hydraulic Components

Grinding applications for hydraulic parts include sealing and precision mating surfaces. Double-disc wheel selection can be relevant to valve plates and related flat components, with separate source documentation for cylindrical operations.
Selection focus
- Valve-plate faces
- Sealing geometry
- Material and stock-removal conditions
Provide the material, drawing, incoming condition and target finish. The correct machine, abrasive and workholding need to be assessed together.
Separate bores, outside surfaces and flat faces
The hydraulic source lists gear-pump pinions and shafts, valve components, piston-pump parts, trunnions and connecting rods. These geometries call for different grinding or honing operations.
Use the surface geometry to narrow selection
The original hydraulic guide covers internal, external cylindrical, centerless and honing processes. These are broader than this site’s double-disc range. A cylindrical or bore-finishing example does not establish compatibility with a flat-face grinder.
Match the abrasive route to the component
Published tooling includes resin or electroplated mounted points for internal grinding, diamond/CBN honing stones for bore finishing, cylindrical wheels and centerless wheels. For flat valve-plate context, see the separately sourced LAPMASTER DSG720 record; its setup remains case-specific.
Different surfaces need different support and tool contact
The source describes centerless grinding as external-periphery processing with workpiece support and a regulating wheel. It describes honing stones for precision bores. Those source distinctions explain why the intended surface matters before choosing the machine or abrasive.
Start with the part and the operation
Identify the component and whether the requirement concerns a bore, cylindrical surface or flat face. Provide the drawing, material, hardness, allowance and surface targets for the corresponding tool/process review. The source does not provide a released cycle for your part.
Do not transfer a case result to another hydraulic part
The published industry list is not a universal performance table. Cycle time, dimensional capability, coolant and tool life for your component are not established in this overview and must be verified for its own setup.
